Hello,
Have fun with this complete working environment for NET/Mac and IM/Mac.
NET/Mac is the TCP/IP application that should be running (if possible)
24 hours a day, while IM/Mac is the mailer that you can use to read
incoming mail and/or write outgoing mail.
This stuff is intended for those that are going to set up a hamradio-
station with a Macintosh and a transceiver. The connection between the
transceiver and the Mac may be accomplished by using a TNC (terminal node
controller) which supports the KISS protocol, or by using a PacketMac modem
as described in one of the files inside the SoftKiss folder. In this case
you also have to install the SoftKiss software.
The only thing you need besides this software and the hardware I just
told you about is an IP-number. Without an IP-number you cannot (should
not) activate your TCP/IP station. You must ask for an IP-number at your
national IP-number coordinator. Ask around to find out who he/she is, and
how to get a number.
NOTE that the files autoexec.net, hosts.net, ftpusers, alias and bm.rc
are my own configurationfiles. Please don't put the transmitter on air
while using these files. These files are just examples to get you going.
